Police seize $68,000 worth of drugs in Tillsonburg bust

Two individuals have been arrested and charged with multiple offences after a search warrant in the Town of Tillsonburg.


On Aug. 1, 2024, members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford, Brant, Elgin and Middlesex Community Street Crime Units and West Region Emergency Response Team executed residential search warrants on Alba Street, in the Town of Tillsonburg.


Two individuals were arrested and taken into custody.


Krista Long, a 37-year-old resident of Tillsonburg, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:


  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (four counts)

  • Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

  • Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm

  • Failure to Comply with Release Order


Nichole Chambers, a 32-year-old resident of Tillsonburg, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:


  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts)

  • Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

  • Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm


As a further result of the investigation, suspected fentanyl, psilocybin, cocaine, methamphetamine, clonazepam and a handgun were seized. The approximate street value of the seized controlled substances is over $68,000.


The accused individuals are being held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Woodstock.
